About The Band

Redentor Jimenez (a.k.a. Red) and Loa Heymann originally formed an acoustic duo in 2006, performing in New York City’s Greenwich and East Village areas.  Songs, which are Rock and Folk influenced with a classic and contemporary sound, were composed and arranged by Red.  Loa’s sultry soulful voice and wide range breathed life to Red’s music.  The current Loa Heymann Band (LHB), which includes Dave Alonso on drums, Odarka Stockert on Celtic harp and Fran Kaczmarek on bass, with Red on guitar and Loa on lead vocals, was formed in early 2007.  This lineup gives LHB and Red’s music a unique sound, crossing Rock, Folk, Celtic, and mainstream Pop music genres. The band’s expanded repertoire covers eclectic materials based on the members’ music influences.  LHB played their debut performance at the 2007 Allentown-Bethlehem Mayfair Music Festival and currently plays in the NY Metro, NJ and PA area.  The band is in the studio cutting their debut album, anticipating a summer 2008 release.

Dave Alonso has been banging the skins for over 16 years.  His favorite styles are Rock, Funk, and Jazz-fusion with artists such as Dave Mathews, Chris Botti, James Brown, Seal.  Dave’s favorite thing to do is to play and hang with LHB.  His famous expression is “Hey Cuz!” and best times are on stage when the band is grooving and smiling.

Fran Kaczmarek is experienced in a wide variety of styles that include power trios, fusion, progressive rock, and 40’s era big bands.  Fran was on hiatus from rock and gigging to settle into life as a medical professional and family man. He kept his chops up by playing contemporary liturgical music in church, charity “garage bands”, and musical pit orchestras.  Fran dabbled in several different projects before settling in with LHB; where he enjoys the eclectic instrumentation and original compositions that let him improvise parts as well as lock into deep grooves with Dave, his compadre’ in rhythm.
